They Want To Kill Me- Atubiga Cries Out

In a Facebook post on Saturday, October 18, 2025, Mr. Atubiga claimed that a group of heavily armed men, numbering about 100, stormed the golf course in a coordinated attack that he believes was targeted at him.

“This evening, around 3:30, I was the target of an assassination attempt involving approximately 100 land guards, bikers, and three vehicles loaded with land guards, most of whom were armed with pump-action guns,” Atubiga wrote.

He said he survived the ordeal “through divine intervention,” crediting his security team and driver for their swift action, which enabled them to escape a barrage of gunfire.

“I’m Not Safe”

Atubiga said the terrifying incident has left him fearing for his life, and he has formally requested security protection from the President, Chief of Staff, Inspector General of Police (IGP), and the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).

“I am formally requesting that the President, the Chief of Staff, the NIB Coordinator, and the IGP provide me with emergency protection effective immediately,” he stated.“I am not safe for now and I am compelled to bid farewell to all Ghanaians for the time being, in the event that I do not survive the night.”

He further alleged that some of the assailants claimed to be affiliated with National Security, raising concerns about the possible involvement of state operatives.

“The three apprehended individuals in this video claim to be from National Security Blue Gate,” he said, adding that he would withhold the names of the alleged masterminds until investigations are complete.

Eyewitness reports and videos shared by GHOne TV showed chaotic scenes at the golf course, with armed men firing indiscriminately as golfers and bystanders fled for safety. In one of the clips, a man was seen shooting toward the far end of the course while others shouted, “We dey here oo,” urging him to stop.

The attackers, described by witnesses as “well-built men,” allegedly caused panic and property damage before retreating.
