Political Analyst and Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Dr. Joshua Jebuntie Zaato, has expressed strong optimism about the future of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), insisting that the party will overcome its current internal wrangling and “rise again” ahead of the 2028 elections.
Dr. Zaato said the NPP’s recent decision to grant amnesty to all suspended members and its reforms to expand the electoral college for the 2026 presidential primaries demonstrate a genuine commitment to unity and renewal.
“Yes, it is difficult for you to be in the NPP this morning because you’ve seen your members of the party tearing themselves apart, digging holes for themselves. But I know that that is where resilience comes from, I know that that is where strength comes from, I know that that is where ideas come from and I know that this party and these people will rise up,” Dr. Zaato stated.
He emphasized that through resilience, the NPP will silence its critics and prove its strength in Ghana’s political landscape.
