Speaking in a one-on-one interview on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo morning show, Mr Osei-Owusu, popularly known as Joe Wise, stressed that all campaign activities must end on Thursday, ahead of the polls.
He cautioned that no form of campaigning will be allowed on Friday, and on election day itself, candidates and their supporters will be prohibited from displaying branded vehicles, T-shirts, or any other campaign-related materials.
“You can’t engage in campaign on Friday. On election day, no branded vehicles, T-shirts, or items belonging to candidates will be allowed,” he emphasized.
Joe Wise reiterated that voting will begin at 7:00 a.m. and close at 2:00 p.m. on election day. He disclosed that all logistical, administrative and security preparations have been completed, with the Electoral Commission (EC) tasked to conduct and supervise the entire process.
He assured party members and the general public of a credible, transparent and well-secured election, adding that the NPP is fully prepared for a smooth presidential primary.
According to him, a total of 211,849 delegates are expected to cast their ballots at 333 polling centres across the country’s 276 constituencies. He explained that while each constituency will generally have one polling centre, constituencies with more than 1,000 delegates will have additional voting points within the same area.
This arrangement, he said, has resulted in the establishment of 333 polling centres nationwide, including one located at the party’s national headquarters in Accra.
