A leading member of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team and the NPP Campaign Manager of 2024 presidential elections, Frederick Opare Ansah, has dismissed suggestions that the order of candidates on the ballot paper could influence the outcome of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) upcoming presidential primaries.

Mr. Opare Ansah said the ballot positions merely serve as a guide for delegates and bear no correlation with electoral success.

“Our campaign is not linked to the number on the ballot,” he stated. “You only tell delegates the number, so they know where to look for you. There is no linkage between the ballot number and the elections. Being number 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 does not determine what you can do for the country or for delegates.”

Friday’s exercise, conducted by the NPP’s National Elections Committee, determined the following ballot order for the party’s five aspirants ahead of the January 31, 2026, flagbearer election:1. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong2. Dr. Bryan Acheampong3. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia4. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum5. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong
