Lawyer Demands Clarity from Presidency Over Petition to Remove Justice Yonny Kulendi

The reported petition was said to have been filed by Daniel Marfo Ofori-Atta on September 30, 2025, alleging that Justice Kulendi improperly interfered in proceedings at the High Court in the now-discontinued ambulance procurement trial involving current Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson and two others.

In his letter, Mr. Asare asked the Presidency to confirm two key details:1. Whether a petition for the removal of Justice Yonny Kulendi has indeed been filed, and2. When such a petition was officially lodged.

Mr. Asare stated that his request was made “in the interest of transparency, accountability, and to clarify the position of the Presidency in this matter.”

If confirmed, the petition would trigger constitutional procedures under Article 146 of the 1992 Constitution, which outlines the process for investigating and, where necessary, removing judges of the superior courts.

The Jubilee House has not yet issued an official response to the lawyer’s request.
