A newly acquired bus under Ghana’s Metro Mass Transit (MMT) fleet reportedly broke down shortly after undergoing an official inspection by the Deputy Minister for Transport, Dorcas Affo-Toffey.
The incident, which occurred moments after the inspection exercise, drew immediate public attention as individuals at the scene were seen pushing the bus in an attempt to get it moving again.
Eyewitnesses described the situation as unexpected, particularly given that the vehicle was part of a newly introduced fleet intended to improve public transportation services across the country.
The breakdown has since sparked discussions about the condition, quality, and roadworthiness of the buses procured for Metro Mass Transit. Critics have raised concerns about whether adequate technical checks were conducted prior to the rollout of the vehicles.
