Youth unemployment in the Greater Accra Region has reached a worrying 49.3 percent, according to data released by the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS), intensifying concerns over the growing employment crisis among young people in the country’s economic hub.
The figure, captured in the GSS Quarterly Labour Force Survey, indicates that nearly one in every two young people between the ages of 15 and 24 in the region is unemployed. The statistic has become a focal point in national debates on job creation, economic opportunities, and youth development.
